The Blind Date (Reader Age 24 - Bones Age 28)

"Dammit, Jim. Why did I agree to let you set me up on a blind date?" Bones asked himself, grumbling as he crossed his arms. "The girl's probably gonna be a sl--"

"Excuse me, are you Leonard?" you asked hesitantly.

Bones turned and saw a beautiful girl with (h/l)(h/c), pretty smile, (s/c), (e/c), and was wearing a (f/c) dress with spaghetti straps and went down just passed your knees, and was wearing black heels. "Uh, yeah..." he said coming out of his daze. "Leonard McCoy." he told you as he held out a hand.

"(y/f/n) (y/l/n)." you replied smiling brightly as you shook his hand. "Jim told me you were a medical student?" you asked hoping you didn't get it wrong.

"Yeah, I am." Bones replied, smiling back at you. "But he didn't tell me a thing about you."

"He didn't? Hmm, guess he wanted me to remain a mystery till you met me." you said with a chuckle. "So, what should we do?"

"You wanna go for a walk around Golden Gate Park?" Bones asked, his accent becoming more apparent.

"Sure. Sounds great." you replied grinning.

Bones grinned back and offered you his arm then smiled bigger when he felt your fingers on his arm. "So, are you a medical student as well?" he asked walking alongside you.

You shook your head and replied, "No, I'm going into engineering. I love to tinker with things and take them apart to see what makes them tick."

"Ah." Bones said understanding. "What do you think makes me tick?" he asked looking down at you.

You looked up at him and pursed your lips in thought. "I'll tell you later." you said teasingly.

Bones smiled and laughed.

You and Bones walked the length of Golden Gate Park twice talking about everything you two could think of then him being the gentleman that he is offered to walk you back to your room at the Academy. You held his hand as you walked then stopped in front of your door. "Thank you, Leonard. I had a great time." you said smiling up at him.

"I had a great time, too." he replied smiling back down at you. "So, (y/n), you figure out what makes me tick?"

"If you want to find out, you have to take me on a second date." you told him.

"Smooth." he said with a chuckle.

You chuckled then said, "So, I guess this is goodnight then."

"Yeah, guess so." Bones said nodding.

You leaned up and kissed his cheek then ran into your room, giggling.

Kirk came out from around the corner and clapped his hands. "Bones, you sly dog!" he said smirking.

Bones chuckled and waved his friend off as he went to his room.

Not on the Cheek, but on the Lips (Reader Age 24 - Bones Age 28)

"Are you telling me you haven't even kissed her on the lips yet?!" Kirk whispered-yelled as he followed his friend around the library.

"We're taking things slow. What's wrong with that?" Bones asked as he pulled a book off a shelf.

"You've been dating for 3 months." Kirk said.

"3 1/2." Bones corrected.

"Even worse!" Kirk said exasperated. He whispered an apology when the librarian glared at him then went over to Bones.

"Just kiss her already." Kirk whispered.

"When I feel like it, now, dammit, Jim, leave me alone." Bones told him before he went over to you. He sat down next you and opened a book then looked at you out of the corner of his eye.

You were so absorbed in studying on how to fix a warp core that you didn't even notice Bones sit down next to you. You turned a page and bit your lips lightly as you concentrated.

Bones kept looking at you then felt something hit him on the back of his head and turned to glare at whoever threw a balled up piece of paper at him.

Kirk smirked then looked away.

Bones rolled his eyes then nudged you.

You slowly turned to Bones then felt your eyes widen when he caught your lips with his. You started to kiss him back then closed your eyes and after a few minutes, you pulled away. "What was that for?" you asked softly.

"To help you study." Bones replied, smirking.

The Morning After (Reader Age 25 - Bones Age 29)

You groaned softly and smiled as you felt the warmth of the sun hitting you as it shined in from the window then turned and smiled bigger when you saw Bones lying in bed next to you. You snuggled close to him, careful not to wake him as you rested your head on his shoulder. You thought back to the night before and how you both said I love you for the first time then at your first time together. You loved how he was so careful with you and passionate as well.

Bones breathed in deeply then blinked a couple of times before he looked down at you and gave you a sleepy smile.

You smiled up at him and chuckled softly at the sleepy look on his face and his bedhead. "You're awake." you said putting an arm around him.

"Your thinking woke me up, (y/n)." Bones replied, voice laced with sleep as he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you close.

"How can my thinking wake you up and how did you know I was thinking?" you asked curiously as you raised an eyebrow at him.

"You're always thinking and your thoughts are loud." he retorted.

You let out a snort then chuckled as you playfully rolled your eyes. "We should get up. We have class soon." you told him as you moved to get up.

He groaned and held you a little tighter.

"We'll be late!" you said laughing.

"Then we'll be late. Now, shut up, woman, and go back to sleep." he replied smirking as he pulled the blanket up more around you two.

You smiled and rolled your eyes then kissed his cheek and put your head back down.

Bones smiled tiredly then kissed your forehead before he fell back asleep.

Sure, you had never been late to class before in your life, but cuddling with Bones sure made up for it.

Dammit, Leonard! (Reader Age 27 - Bones Age 31)

You laid under a console in the Transporter Room, fixing a few wires that a couple of Ensigns managed to screw up and was getting frustrated.

"(y/n)!!" Bones yelled coming into the room.

"OW!!" you yelled as you banged your head on the console. You slid out from underneath and looked up at Bones, glaring as you rubbed the sore spot on your head. "Dammit, Leonard!" your growled.

"You're starting to sound like me." he noted, smirking.

You rolled you eyes then stood up and smoothed down your uniform. "What do you want?" you asked crossing your arms.

"Kirk was having me deliver some paperwork to Scotty who told me to give it to his young apprentice which happens to be you." he said smirking wider as he handed you a pile of paperwork.

"Scotty." you growled menacingly as you death glared at the pile.

"I could help you with it if you want." Bones said smiling.

"Oh, really? What do I have to do?" you asked, knowing he wanted something.

Bones smirked and tapped his lips with his index finger.

You smiled and rolled your eyes playfully then pecked him on the lips.

"Nope. Not good enough~" he sing-songed.

You chuckled and put down the paperwork then wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him deeply.

"That's more like it." he said after you pulled away. He kissed you again then walked toward the door. "Have fun with your paperwork."

"What?!" you asked annoyed.

He smiled then stood in the doorway and turned to face you. "I'm a doctor, not an engineer. Bye!" he called back as he ran.

"DAMMIT, LEONARD!!!" you screamed.

The Important Things in Life ( Reader Age 28 - Bones Age 32)

You sat next to Bones on a chair outside of Kirk's room at the hospital in San Francisco. You held his hand and gently put your head on his shoulder.

"Jim dying made me realize something." Bones said suddenly.

You picked up your head off his shoulder and looked at him. "And what's that?" you asked curiously.

"Time goes by too fast and I don't wanna waste anymore of my time. I realize what the important things are in my life and you're one of them, (y/n)." Bones replied. "I don't ever wanna let you go and I never want you to leave me."

"I won't ever leave you." you told him as you hugged him.

Bones put his hands over yours and pulled your arms off of him gently then held them as he knelt down in front of you. "I'm asking you to marry me, (y/n). To be by my side for the rest of my days." he said huskily, his accent stronger than ever. "(y/f/n) (y/m/n) (y/l/n), will you marry me?" he asked pulling out a ring with a small diamond.

You smiled and nodded as a few tears rolled down your cheeks. "Yes, Leonard McCoy, I will marry you." You watched as he put the ring on your finger then crashed your lips against his and ran your fingers through his hair. You pulled away slightly and let your breath mingle with his. "I'll never leave you." you told him breathily as you looked into his eyes.

(Present Day)

Bones put his hand against the glass and leaned over, staring at your face. You, his wife of six years, laid as though dead in a stasis chamber. The chamber was the only thing that was keeping the rare disease from completely killing you and taking you away from him.

A year ago, you and he were part of a landing party on a strange planet that was supposed to be uninhabited, but was really home to one of the most dangerous alien species known across the galaxy and also one of the most advanced. You had been taking samples of a plant to help him since you weren't needed in Engineering when you had been captured by one of the aliens.

It seemed like you had been gone for a week when it was really only two days. He and the rest of the landing party hand infiltrated the system of caverns and found you in a makeshift lab. You had a few minor cuts and bruises along with suffering a blow to the head, but other than that you were fine.

A few weeks later you had suffered a collapse that you hadn't recovered from and was sent into a deep coma. He had discovered what disease you had and contained it, but he knew that it was only a temporary fix and that you wouldn't wake until he found a cure. He begged the aliens that captured you to give him the cure, but found out that they had no idea what they created.

Now, here he was a year later and he was no closer to finding the cure. He looked up at the screen that showed your steady heartbeat and normal brain activity then back at your face. He hoped that you were as peaceful as you looked and that one day he would be able to hold you in his arms again.

"I'll find the cure, (y/n). And I'll never leave you." Bones whispered his promise.
